The Plaza Paris Vendôme Hotel
After twenty months of construction, the 19th century building was ready for the Hotel Plaza Paris Vendôme (4 stars) to open her doors. Gilles Marang, the owner, has entrusted the creative decoration to Pierre-Yves Rochon. The geometric lines, combined with the beige, honey, sand, chocolate, and red hues give off a soft and calm aura.
Off to the side, you will find a very inviting intimate library, perfect for a warm drink next to the fireplace. Need a little snack or cocktail? You don’t even need to think about where, just head through the wooden doors to Pinxo (see our “restaurant” rubric). For a cocktail or a drink between friends, you will be seduced by the refined exoticism of the bar with its stretched velour wall paper of Chinese horseman…
For the sporty types, a fitness center has been created underground, with a hammam and an all wood sauna. As for the two lane pool, eleven by four meters, guests are definitely getting hooked! The Hotel Plaza Paris Vendôme’s attention to detail is seen through the hotel, like the decorative placement of the full size Thierry de Cromières painting in the back of the elevator. We of course cannot overlook the essentials: the rooms. Simple rooms to junior suites (450 to 860 euros) offer a balanced compromise between practicality and elegance. Each room is equipped with a flat screen television, DVD and CD players, a high speed internet access connection, and a personal direct line for incoming calls.
