A Second Boutique for Marithé and François Girbaud

For all Parisians, the flagship Marithé and François Girbaud store was always located at 38 Rue Etienne-Marcel, a stone’s throw away from the Places des Victoires. Nowadays, over on the Rive Gauche, a new boutique has opened up at 7 Rue du Cherche-Midi.

Tireless and resistant to all classification, designers Marithé and François Girbaud have been developing their own unique style for the past twenty years. The first to invent destructured jackets twenty years back, they were once considered highly unconventional. But soon, this creative couple brought their ready-to-wear up to the level of contemporary style.
After focusing on natural cloth, they were the first to begin experimenting with new materials and became the precursors of high-tech fashion made with stretch fabrics.

Today they have earned a very large clientele of all ages, who love the men’s and women’s lines not just for their fashionable spirit, but also for the anatomical recreation they allow. Of course, the use of these new materials has led to the application of new technologies, like fusion and cutouts made with lasers.
Up until recently, the emblematic address of Marithé and François Girbaud was 38 rue Etienne Marcel, right near the Place des Victoires. But now they’ve expanded over to the other side of the river, with a new boutique at 7 Rue du Cherche-Midi. In this 280 square meter space created by Kristian Gavoille from Neotu, everything floats! The suspended furniture and mirrors, the glass partitions, and the taut walls made of white Barrisol stretch material add up to a surreal sort of atmosphere.
The store is divided into four levels, three for women and one for men…. Not to be missed on your shopping tour.
